A November to Remember

November 1st arrived with a joyous family celebration honoring my mother on her 89th birthday. Three days later we mourned her very sudden, unexpected passing. Six days after my conducting her graveside service, we celebrated her life and new home in Heaven with a memorial service at her retirement center. Four days following her last earthly send-off, our precious grandson comes into this world exactly two weeks after my mom’s death. Wow, the circle of life truly engulfed us!

With all the range of emotions, this month personally has been one for the record books. From tears of sorrow to joy, we have experienced so much within the last thirty days. At times of becoming overwhelmed with it all, I have cried out to the Lord yet been greatly comforted through the power of His Holy Spirit.

November 2014 shall always be a month of great change for us–loss of one precious life, birth of another. May the recent incredible life events drive me toward a deeper heart for God. May I resolve to walk with greater faith and gratitude as a new, yet unfamiliar era dawns.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
