Today, I have really been struck by God speaking to me through my morning devotional and at our church service. I saw these events as personal God speaking appointments.

This morning in my devotional the Biblical passage of Acts 14:22 jumped out at me. In the passages preceding it, Paul had been beaten and run out of town. At the conclusion of that passage it read: “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”

Hearing a wonderful church sermon about believers enduring the trials of this present life greatly encouraged me. Our godly pastor shared how we must overcome much in this world to stay on track to win the race for the prize through Christ Jesus. His sermon reference, attributed to Hebrews 11 and 12, detailed the faithful cloud of witnesses who endured great tribulations although their never seeing all the promises fulfilled.

To be a follower of Christ (Yeshua) we can expect hard trials and great difficulties. Even in hardships, we suffer many things. However we are still comforted as believers in traveling some of the same challenging roads as did our Savior–temptations, rejection, heartache.

Praise God as believers that we are in good company with Christ and one another; and our suffering here is quite short in light of eternity.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
