Proclaiming Victory Through Adversity

Living life to its fullest in spite of adversities is a choice. We can choose to either go the distance as the best athlete or hide in fear as a turtle in its shell. A spiritually void analysis of personal circumstances can become a hindering paralysis.

When pain and hardship strike, sometimes our first response is to hide in a cave. Yes, a time exists to endure adversity’s initial shock and process intense pain, yet there is also a time to move forward claiming victory. Although no one can put a timetable upon another’s grief, perpetual mourning without any long-term hope indicates entrenched hopelessness.

Today our godly pastor reminded we Christian believers to take authority over all the powers of darkness that plague us. In daily affirming God’s Word over our cares, burdens and adversities, we not only exercise our faith but exorcise demonic powers that Jesus came to destroy. Drawing near to God buffets any advances of the Devil (James 4:7).

Isn’t it time we tread upon the lying serpents that rob us of our joy God intended for His children? Again God’s Word, the Bible, is our very best weapon in our spiritual arsenal. His Word gives us the power to truly live as overcomers regardless of tragic, hellacious events. God sent His Son that we need not now or ever live as the defeated but as the delivered.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
