The Best Counsel Is Not Human

Today is a choice: Take every thought captive unto the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

I am discovering the Word, not man, to be true solace in our afflictions. People randomly come and go, but the Word of God stands forever. God’s counsel always supersedes that of any human wisdom.

A message heard recently taught us not to put one’s trust in man but in God and His Word. How true!  We must always go to God first rather than initially seeking the counsel of others. Others counsel can be fickle, feeling motivated and erroneous. God’s Word is steady, wise and true. Any human counsel given even secondarily must pass the test of agreeing completely with the Word of God in the Bible.

My word for today: Do not entrust yourself to the whims of man. Rather, entrust yourself to the power of God through His Word for wisdom! God’s Word, especially for personal counsel, is foolproof!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
