The Fragrance of God’s Presence

This evening we witnessed the body of Christ participating in a unique ministry for Elaine. In offering anointing oils and prayers to God simultaneously, peace came to my sister. With our Christian friend being trained in essential oils therapy, our female friend lovingly applied aromatic oils upon Elaine coupled with healing prayers to the Father.

Five of us around Elaine prayed and quoted Scriptures of hope and healing. In our taking turns to beseech God specifically for His healing care upon her, we sensed His spiritual aroma coupled with potent scents of peppermint, lavender and frankincense. The Father visited all our hearts throughout the creative prayer process.

The event being God-centered rather than oil centered afforded God’s peace and love for Elaine and us. After departing, we heard how peace reigned there. Loving care surrounded my sister granting her relief from chronic, complex pain.

Thank You, Lord, for using Your people and Your creation to bless others in suffering!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!

  1. Thank you again for such encouraging words. I pray that God will give you and your family extra grace and strengthen you all along the tough journey. He never forgets us no matter what the enemy whispers. You are precious to God!

  2. Thank you for sharing your experiences of your sister’s trauma and your families reliance on God for care. This is a testimony to all who are suffering greatly. God bless.

    • Thank you for your gracious comments. Through the daily battles, God continues to show up in His forgiveness and grace. It is a day to day journey. As Christ-followers we know and believe that as we continue to endure hardship with Him, one day there will be no more tears and pain.

      • I am also a Christian but my faith has struggled badly during this season. My family also suffers and is devastated because of my suffering.
When I read your blog I feel gentle encouragement.
You, Elaine and your family’s story on this blog has been a testimony to me, and I know it will be to others.
Your book will also be a testimony.
