A Good Word Warms the Heart

Today in briefly speaking with Elaine by phone, she remarked how she felt better today. Those words have been rare to hear for a long time. My Mom and I rejoiced over the phone to hear of my sister’s good news. In sensing Elaine’s brighter countenance, my heart thanked God thus giving me renewed hope.

How a good word warms the heart! Consider taking a good word a step further in sending a kind remark. Perhaps a word of encouragement to a friend or even a stranger can brighten a day. In sincerely complimenting a waitress, landscaper or some other worker for a job well done, the returning smile and verbal appreciation makes one’s day.

Thank You, Lord, that a good, kind word warms the heart and blesses the giver as well as the receiver.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
