Prayers Answered in an Instant

Yesterday as my wife and I returned from an out of town trip to visit her mom, we encountered stormy weather conditions.  During the afternoon drive, the thunderstorms stubbornly followed us.

About 45 minutes from our home destination by car, a deluge engulfed us.  On the three lane, southbound interstate on which we traveled, busy traffic surrounded us amidst the heavy rains.

Before we knew it, we suddenly hydroplaned on the pavement.  Losing control of the car in the water, we began two, 360 degree spins in the middle of the heavily traveled interstate.

Immediately as the accident began, Connie prayed for Jesus to protect us; my quick prayer of agreement followed.  In my futile attempts to gain control of the vehicle, our previous southbound car turned northbound facing oncoming traffic with another car’s headlights coming our way.

Suddenly, our car miraculously careened to the left shoulder lightly hitting its rear bumper against the concrete barrier.  With the car still facing traffic, it now safely rested on the shoulder lane as traffic zoomed by to our left.

God had intervened again on our behalf!  We had previously prayed before traveling that we would harm no one and no one would harm us.  Thank You, Lord, for answering our prayers of protection averting a tragedy!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
