Overcoming Being Stuck in Grief

One of the most popular blog entries read by my readers has been:  “Looking Back and Looking Ahead,” written one year ago today. In reviewing that blog entry, emotional healing continues to take place in my own life. Although family circumstances have changed little, my heart responses to them have been Christ-transformed.

No longer do I get angry at God for the tragic events of our past. No longer do I keep asking the “why” questions. No longer do I hold animosity toward the players in the unfolding, critical life events.

God has been working on my heart to forgive and move forward amidst the pain. One of the most dangerous places to be after crisis mode entails choosing to remain stuck in grief.  A person cannot change the past but has the power with the help of Christ to look forward with hope and expectation for better days ahead.  Prayer, Christian fellowship and Godly counsel bring healing and help in time of need!

Lord, help me to keep this perspective believing in faith that better days lie ahead as You lead me forward!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
