God is Present Especially Through Change

In attending a relative’s funeral yesterday in my hometown church, I was reminded of so many things:  friends of decades gone by; precious memories of Sunday family gatherings; the multitude of changes in life; God’s grace and help in grievous times.

While there we drove by where we grew up and then passed by our former grandparents’ homes. Having not visited there in a few years, all looked familiar yet quite different.

As my sister Elaine, due to her disability, could not travel back with us to our small town, I missed her presence. Life has changed in many ways for all of us. However in the midst of the changes, God is still present, and for Him I am thankful.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
