Reflections on Resurrection Evening

We visited Elaine today. Holidays are not too special for her now. Holidays are not the same for us anymore, but no other day is either. Pain greets Elaine daily regardless of  the calendar date. Fortunately, today has been a “fair day” for her in living with chronic pain.

What can you say to someone who suffers physically? Sometimes you need to imagine yourself in that wheelchair and attempt to think as a quadriplegic. Sometimes, you need to bring up a funny story of the past for laughs. Sometimes you just need to be silently attentive rather than doling out advice.

Be prayed up and read up (in God’s Word) daily so when trouble arrives, you will be spiritually strong.  Remember His promises including a day when His children are promised no more suffering….

Happy Resurrection Day!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
