Amazing Acts of GOD

As a bolt out of the blue, I received a phone call from my brother-in-law this evening. Since Don and I usually text rather than call each other, panic initially gripped me in thinking about my sister. I answered the phone brightly yet bracing for some new troubling event.

“I just needed to tell someone what has happened,” he said.

I fearfully yet intently listened as he spoke.

“Elaine has been feeding herself and even using an iPad to search a website tonight,” he tearfully shared.

“Praise the Lord!” I exclaimed.

He went on the tell me that he had recently bought a special wrist attachment that enabled Elaine to hold a spoon to eat and a stylus to web surf. I commended him in successfully coaxing my paralyzed sister to try such new endeavors. His patient love brought forth a blessing.

After getting off the phone, my wife and I praised God for His amazing intervention. My sister, who had considered herself unable to provide self care since her accident, accomplished two major feats. Following two years of prayers by multitudes of people, Elaine achieved amazing, new personal milestones.

In the blink of an eye, tragedies do occur; yet also in another blink God performs His amazing miraculous acts in answer to prayer.  Thank You, God!

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
