A Special Greeting

An unknown person sent a comforting message to Elaine a few days ago via Facebook. The greeter stated she was the daughter of one of Elaine’s high school classmates. She went on to explain she had seen a Facebook post about Elaine that caused her to search an old high school yearbook. She located Elaine’s picture in her dad’s yearbook and sent Elaine a message of good will and prayers.

I called Elaine to share the post with her. Since the greeter mentioned her dad’s name, I asked Elaine who that high school friend might be.

Elaine described her classmate as a sweet young man that had died, perhaps, some three decades ago in an accident. How kind of this young lady to reach out to her with encouragement and comfort. God does work in mysterious ways.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!

Reading through “old” posts. This was very special. How many times do we think of someone or something simple we could do and don’t because we think the other might not care or it won’t matter. Thanks for sharing.
