Praying Through Adversities

Today had not been a banner day for me personally. Multiple frustrations worked to rob me of my joy.

At my wife’s timely suggestion, we prayed together this evening. The prayer began in my asking God for personal, specific answers to our multiple requests. Soon prayer for personal needs turned into intercessory prayer for others. As we prayed for a number of people including Elaine, it dawned upon me how minuscule our problems to be in comparison to the many tragic needs of people around us.

Somehow in re-focusing our prayer from self to others, God spoke to me of how truly blessed we are. As we intercede in prayer, our self focus transforms into an outward focus which ushers forth God’s peace.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
