A Call From Joni

When going through a difficult time, it really helps to hear from someone who has endured a similar ordeal.  During a diving accident forty-five years ago, Joni Eareckson Tada became a quadriplegic.  Joni has used her disability to literally reach millions of people across this globe through the power of Jesus Christ.

About three months ago, Joni came to our city to speak at a Christian conference on suffering.  Through a divine appointment, Elaine had the opportunity to meet Joni who suffers much like my sister.  Face to face they shared their challenges together in living with quadriplegia.  It so helped Elaine to know someone really understood her daily struggles.  Since that time even with Joni’s busy schedule, she continues to reach out to Elaine with letters and calls.  Just last week, Joni called Elaine on the phone to simply hear from her.  Her call touched all our hearts.

Do you know someone struggling in a similar fashion as yourself?  Why not give them a call today to remind them that you care, and they are not alone.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
