Seeing God in the Suffering

Sometimes, it is very difficult to see God’s plan in the midst of a loved one’s pain.  As a Christian believer, I know He is present and working behind the scenes through much of our heartache.  For over 20 months now, we have been looking for ways He might use all of Elaine’s physical and emotional suffering for some good.  Honestly, we have only seen glimpses, however He is working.

Ways I currently see Him working:  Showing His love to Elaine through the body of Christ volunteering countless hours of sitting with her and bringing meals; God’s wooing His children to a closer walk with Him in the midst of deep sorrow; people making valiant efforts to work through past personal issues to deal with present ones.

I choose this day in seeing these few visible glimpses to give God praise for working for the good in those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28-Holy Bible).  I know more of His insights will come.

About Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering

Our Dark Night of the Soul: Finding Solace Through Suffering shares the true story about a sudden family tragedy. As author of the book to be published in the summer of 2014, the true account tells of my sister being rear ended by a drunk driver. She barely survives the high speed crash being left to live as a quadriplegic. Written from a brother's perspective, the manuscript shares the heartfelt story of ongoing physical and emotional pain experienced by both victim and family. Only through God's grace can a family survive such a tragedy!
